Glorifying Christ

14 He will glorify me because it is from me that he will receive what he will make known to you. 15 All that belongs to the Father is mine. That is why I said the Spirit will receive from me what he will make known to you.’ John 16:14-15

In May 2014 we looked via a series at Who the Holy Spirit is and what He does in our lives. You can check that series out here. Today and this week we look again at the Holy Spirit. Hopefully we encounter Him. One of the roles of the Holy Spirit is to glorify Jesus.
Remember that when Jesus came and died and rose again, this changed all of history. Jesus’s time on earth and what He did was a defining moment for all of mankind. It’s understandable that the Holy Spirit then comes to glorify Him and serve to establish further and advance that which Jesus had already accomplished on earth. The Holy Spirit does not have His own agenda, except for the agenda of glorifying Jesus.

We can then expect that when the Holy Spirit does His work, we are left with a greater sense of Christ. The work of the Spirit leads us to Jesus and causes men and women to turn to Him. It should concern us where we see ministries that are all about the Holy Spirit and yet hardly ever mention Jesus.
Today, ask the Holy Spirit to glorify Jesus in you. Ask Him to work in your heart so that today and onwards you will worship and bring honour and glory to Christ in increasing measure. Secondly, ask Him to help you bring that same glory of Jesus to others. I pray that your passion for Jesus will be infectious and will cause others to worship Him.
