Protector

He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
Ps 91:4

God makes it very clear to us that fear does not come from him. Writing to Timothy, he teaches him that God has not given us a spirit of fear. It has never been part of God’s agenda for you. And why is that? Well simple. Whatever emotions we have at any time will either come from God or from the devil and God is bigger and stronger and loving and the list could go on.

When you have someone like God with you all the time and protecting you then you have absolutely nothing to fear. It doesn’t matter what things life throws at you, no matter how big or small, God is lovingly watching over you and will protect you. There is nothing that can be a reasonable threat to him, nothing that even comes close. You and I never have to lose sleep because He is always on watch. We must not allow any situation to get the better of us but instead we must hand every one over to Him and ask him to take care of it and to help us play our part.

Take time to read the whole of Psalm 91 and to internalise it and believe it in your heart. I trust that like the Psalmist, you will be able to declare, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me;
your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” God is good!
