Demons believe and shudder!

When evening came, many who were demon-possessed were brought to him, and he drove out the spirits with a word and healed all who were ill. Matthew 8:14

Among the many miracles of Jesus were those where he set free those who were oppressed by the devil. He drives out the spirits with a word. Jesus is never intimidated, deceived or fooled. He does not allow evil to threaten him but always puts Satan and demons in their place. Jesus has complete authority over evil and never ever the other way round. The apostle John makes it clear to us in 1 John 4:4 that he who is in us (JESUS) is greater than he that is in the world (the devil). He reminds that (by virtue of being children of God and being in Christ who overcame evil once and for all via the cross) we have overcome evil. Remember we fight a battle whose end has already been determined. Jesus has won the victory!

The last story of Matthew 8 has 2 demons pleading with Jesus (v29), “What do you want with us, Son of God?’ they shouted. ‘Have you come here to torture us before the appointed time?’ They know who is BOSS! The Bible also tells us in James 2:19 that the demons believe there is one God and they shudder. They tremble at the thought of Jesus because they know what it means when he’s around.

Friends, let us never allow ourselves to be intimidated by evil. Let us never believe the lies that Satan and his demons try to whisper in our ears. He is the father of lies, but our Jesus is THE TRUTH and we know that the Truth will set us free! And here’s some more amazing news: Jesus has given us the power to cast out evil, so command it out of your life today. Take authority in Jesus’s Name. Walk free and help others to do the same. Why? Because Jesus is amazing!
