For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10

Yesterday we established a fact; you are God’s workmanship. Here’s another one: you were created in Christ Jesus! In the Bible, we find that things like creation happen “for him, by him, through him, in him”. Jesus has this intricate involvement where he is the cause, the agent, the reason and the embodiment. Your creation as God’s workmanship is one such example. And see the reason you were created – to do good works. God never wants you to grow weary of doing good. Also, see how purpose and destiny are caught up in your good works. We don’t just do as we please, no, there are good works prepared in advance for each of us to do. God has a purpose for each of us, one that involves us doing good, in the unique way that God has prepared them for us.

There are things in this world that only you can do because you are you. God prepared those things for you to do and then he made you to be you so that you could do those things that he has for you and that only you can do. So enough of this “I’m not good enough”, “but I’m not like so-and-so”, “I’m useless”, “I can’t”. No! Time is ticking and this life is too short. There are good works with your name on them, and if you don’t do them, no-one will. So with the strength and confidence that come from God himself, do them!
