Turn the lights on

18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. Eph 1:18-19

Let’s pick up from where we left off yesterday. After learning that Jesus had lifted the veil making his salvation available to everybody, Satan then purposes to blind as many as possible so that they do not see or understand the grace of God. This should accelerate our urgency to preach the Gospel, but even more importantly to pray because only the Holy Spirit can reveal Jesus to people. Paul’s prayers for others are deep. Like this one today in Ephesian 1.

May I encourage you to learn to pray through Scripture. It is powerful! Take the words of Paul and pretend they are your own and pray them over your three blind minds from yesterday. Open your Bible to Ephesians 1 and literally pray a heartfelt prayer that goes like this: “Lord I pray for blind mind Joe Soap. May his heart be enlightened in order that he may know the hope to which you have called him, the riches of your glorious inheritance in your holy people, and your incomparably great power for Joe Soap when he believes in you…” Use that as your launching pad and after each phrase or sentence, put in your own words. This is dynamite, or as my dear friend Desmond would say, “This is a bunker buster prayer”. For your reference, a bunker buster is a bomb designed to penetrate hardened targets or targets buried deep underground. Let’s pray some bunker buster prayers for those precious souls that God loves so much but that have not discovered the love of God. Let’s break open the hardened surface and let the light of God in. Our God is mighty to save!
