Trust in God

Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, trust also in me. John 14:1

Some commands of Jesus are simply outrageous. “Do not let your hearts be troubled”. Sometimes He says “do not worry”. It’s as simple as that, a command, and we need to obey. How do we obey? Well He gives the antidote and alternative here. Trust in God and in Jesus. The extent to which we allow our hearts to be troubled with worry and other cares of this world is the extent to which we neglect to trust in God.

As you begin the week, meditate on and memorise Philipians 4:6-7 below. Internalise it and allow it to take root in your heart. Then pray and hand over any worries to Jesus and express your trust in Him.

Memory Verse: Phil 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
